A commemoration after Nikola Tesla's death was broadcasted on New York Radio on January 10, 1943.  The Mayor of the City of New York, Fiorello LaGuardia delivered a eulogy to Tesla.  "Nikola Tesla was a great humanist, a distinguished scientific genius and a poet of science" said Mayor LaGuardia. 

The audio tape with LaGuardia's speech over New York Radio on January 10, 1943 was discovered by the Tesla Memorial Society of New York after 60 years of its unknown existence.  LaGuardia's speech is also available on CD Disc.  The Tesla Memorial Society of New York is proud to announce the existence of the CD Disc with live voice of Mayor LaGuardia, the greatest Mayor of New York City, which was broadcast over New York Radio.

Tesla died on January 7, 1943 in Hotel New Yorker, Manhattan, Suite 3327 on the 33rd floor of Hotel New Yorker.  LaGuardia's eulogy to Tesla over New York Radio was on January 10, 1943, three days after his death.  A State funeral for Tesla was held at the Cathedral of St. John the divine in New York City.  2,000 people paid respect to Nikola Tesla.  The Pallbearers were Nobel Prize winners.  Telegrams of condolence were received from many notables including the first lady Ms. Eleanor Roosevelt and Vice-President Wallace.
